HOW WE WORK

We build podcasts like a newsroom — with rigour, instinct, and respect for the audience.

Most podcast agencies start with a microphone. We start with a question: who are you trying to reach, and why should they care?

Our approach was forged in newsrooms and studios — producing for ABC Radio National, Network 10, and seven years in communications and marketing at Monash University, where we built a 200,000-download podcast from scratch. Every editorial choice we make is in service of the listener.

  • We work together to define your audience, your editorial positioning, and the format that will help you achieve your goals. Your knowledge of your world, and our knowledge of audio and content marketing, are the perfect match.

  • Together we develop the creative concept, shape the structure, and lock in the format for your season. You stay close to the creative — we make sure it sounds like nothing else in your sector.

  • In-studio directing, recording facilitation, editing, mixing, and mastering — with the editorial judgment to know what to cut, what to keep, and how to make every episode hit the spot.

  • Eye-catching episode descriptions, publishing, metadata, distribution, and audience development. We’ll help your podcast get in front of the right people — and thrive.

MASTERCLASS FOR INSITUTIONS

Make your organisation’s podcast idea brand-friendly & budget-approved.

A one-day intensive, small-group program for teams and organisations who want to move from idea to launch with confidence. Led by James Pattison, with the same editorial methodology we use on our premium series. Three of our recent Masterclass clients — from Monash Business School, Monash Law School, and the National Centre for Healthy Ageing — are now in podcast production with Miniature.

ORIGIN

Built on an editorial instinct for what makes people lean closer & listen.

James Pattison has spent 15 years making audio that earns its audience. A graduate with a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Arts (with Honours in Creative Writing), he started as a producer and reporter at ABC Radio National — working on the Law Report, Sunday Extra, and Books & Arts Daily — before becoming a TV Associate Producer at The Project on Network 10.

James spent seven years in communications and marketing at Monash University, where he created Just Cases — a legal podcast that reached 200,000+ downloads with a 4.8★ rating on Apple Podcasts — and Life After Law School for Monash Law. He then returned to the ABC to produce The Stage Show, Blueprint For Living, and RN Breakfast, crafting daily broadcasting interviews for ABC Radio National's flagship morning program.

Most brands know how to push a message, but not tell a story. Most journalists know how to tell a story, but not build a message. James does both — that's what makes Miniature different.

When you engage Miniature, you work closely with James and have access to some of Australia's most talented audio editors, producers, and sound engineers.

Let's make something worth listening to.

Whether you're ready to commission a series or just exploring whether a podcast makes sense for your organisation, we'd like to hear from you.
